Are you interested in history, the Viking age and old crafts?. Or maybe you are just curious about what it is like to be a modern Viking, attending markets to shop, view old crafts or what about making your own Viking garments!?.

Borre Vikinglags aim is to spread knowledge about Borre and Vestfolds history, in particular the Iron age/Viking age, and to broaden the knowledge about daily life and crafts from this period. During the market, that we arrange every other year, we have seminars about different subjects. Making iron from iron ore found in marshes, our black smiths make knives, axes and even frying pans from this iron. The archers make their own long bows and arrows, and we learn shoe making, pottery and song. Embroidery and card weaving can also be topics in these seminars. During the market we live in wool or linnen tents and make our dinner over open fire. At the beach you can see Viking ships and smaller boats that are used in rowing contests, archer and ax throwing contests are held.
